KINDERGARTEN AT ADVENTURE MONTESSORI
Kindergarten at AML is one of our favorite and most rewarding
programs! We get to experience first hand, the culmination of the
children’s learning, acquired during their first two years in our
Montessori environment. For those children who joined us later, we
enjoy sharing in the unfolding and blossoming of their social,
cognitive and emotional development. Children and staff alike,
benefit from the close community ties that are formed through the
kindergarten journey into the children’s next level of development.
The kindergartners are role models for
the younger children in the classrooms. They have experience
with the materials and have mastered many of the earlier exercises
and are keenly aware of the rules and structure of daily activities.
They are often paired with younger children during the morning work
period for giving short lesson presentations. They are proud
to share their knowledge and they grow in self-confidence, as the
younger ones look up at them in awe. They also continue working on
their own individualized challenges in language, math, geography and
the sciences. During the afternoon, the kindergartners all meet
together daily in their own community. From 1 to 3:15 PM, they
are taught by Nina Wilson. Monday through Friday as outlined in the
schedule. Each, Tuesday and Thursday from 1:45-2:45 PM, the children
participate in a physical education program that encompasses
nutrition and care of the body. Please see Ms. Wendy if you have any
questions about the program. We are anticipating the coming year
with great excitement! Thank you all for your confidence and
support.
On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, the children will have physical education, Body, Spirit and Mind, from 1:45-2:45 PM!
